TRAVELING TO CHILE

Does the camp include airfare?

NO. Given the fact that participants fly in from various location, it is impossible for us to manage this aspect of their trip. Also many participants like to use their Frequent Flyer Points when booking their air transportation to camp. For more information on flights and prices, we recommend you call Melanie at Voyages G-Travel.

How do I get from the Santiago Airport to the Ski Resort?

We make arrangements to pick you up at the airport. This is why it is important for you to complete the Travel Information Form so that we know when to pick you up.

Do I need a passport?

YES, a valid passport is required for all persons visiting Chile. Please note that most countries require that your passport's expiry date be at least 6 months following the return date appearing on your ticket. For more information on passport requirements, please consult the internet web site of the country you wish to visit.

IMPORTANT - What to know & what documents are needed if a minor (under 18) is to fly alone?

CHILEAN GOVERNMENT REQUIREMENTS

The Chilean Consulate asks that a letter be signed by both parents authorizing their child to leave the country to participate in a Nomad Ski Academy camp in Chile, at a specified location, for a specified period of time.  The Chilian Consulate has form letters that they use for this purpose.  Here is what you must do:

Call your nearest Chilean Consulate (Montreal (514) 499-0405, Ottawa (613) 235-3500; they also have offices in Toronto and Vancouver) and make an appointment to get the authorization letter approved.  Both parents must go at the Consulate.  There is a nominal fee and the following pieces of identification are required:

Birth certificate (an original)

Passport (strongly recommended)

It is possible that the Consulate will ask for the name and passport number of the coach.  If you do not know the coach, we will provide you with this information.

If you are unable to go to a Chilean Consulate, you can obtain your “authorization letter”, notarized by a notary or a lawyer, and send the letter to the Chilean Consulate for approval.  There is a nominal fee.  In this case, it is preferable that your notary or lawyer communicate directly with the consulate to verify the procedure.

IF YOU ARE FLYING WITHOUT AN ADULT:

When you check in at the airport upon departure, sign in as an “unaccompanied minor”.  If required, an airline representative will accompany you onto your flight.  When you arrive at your destination, another representative will walk you out to meet us.  Then we will sign a release form into our care.  The representative will also help you with your luggage and at Customs.

Please remember, it is your responsibility to have all the necessary paperwork and information for your particular airline and for crossing the border.

How will you meet me at the airport?

To ensure that we are there to meet you and to get you back to the airport in time for your departure, we require your arrival and departure information; therefore, please complete the Travel Information Form. If you do not provide us with your travel information, we will not be able to meet you on your arrival.

We will meet you as you exit the Customs/Baggage Claims area of the airport. Please look for our representative displaying the "Nomad Ski" sign.
