FOR PARENTS
What if my child is really shy? Please be reassured. We can easily identify these children and they are never left out. On arrival, each child will meet not only meet his/her coach, but also the other skiers with whom he/she will be training. Every camp participant must get up every morning in time for breakfast and get their lift pass for that day. We know exactly who has not turned up that morning and we go to their room to check in on them. Your child is making new friends right from the first day. We make every effort to ensure that shy camp participants are included and take part in all activities. What if my child gets homesick? Although the skiers are so busy having fun that they often don't want to go home, there are rare situations of homesickness. If you sense a problem with your child being homesick, please contact Sebastien Caron, the Camp Director, and he will deal with it immdediately. We encourage you to contact us directly rather than trying to fix things over the phone with your cihild. We realize this is difficult to go through as a parent, but please be assured that we will do our best to see that your child leaves the camp feeling it has been a positive experience. Generally, we have found that the more often you phone your child, the more homesick he/she becomes. It is extremely rare that a child feels homesick for more than three days. Do you have any references? Yes, we would be please to provide you with references from athletes and experienced coaches who are familiar with the Academy team. We are unable to publish these reference in this document for privacy reasons. To obtain references, please contact Sebastien Caron. His coordinates are available under the "CONTACT US" button. What happens if my child gets hurt? Please note that you must obtain medical insurance that includes skiing. This ia a prerequisite for acceptance to the camp. You are also required to fill out the medical form at registration time or when you receive the confirmation package. Parents or guardians of camp participants under the age of 19 must provide written consent to allow Nomad Ski Academy to authorize any emergency medical treatment that may be required. All reasonable steps will be taken to contact the parent, guardian or emergency contact person in the event that medical attention is required by the camp participant. Should an accident occur, professional ski partols are on hand who are dedicated to our facility. They would immediately attend to any incident along with any of our available staff. The injured person would then be transported from the mountain to the nearest suitable medical facility. If required, helicopter transportation would be arranged. Sebastien Caron, or one of the coaches, would stay with your child at all times. If your injury should render you unable to ski, we recommend that your stay and enjoy all the other benefits of your camp experience. Who is responsible for risks? Nomad Ski Academy offers many sports and recreational activities in addition to skiing. Alll of these activities involve the risk of injury. All camp participants are required to sign the Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement. Parent or guardians of participants under the age of 19 are also required to sign this agreement. Activities other than skiing may require a seperate release of liability agreement to be signed by each camp participant. |
